When I bought my car back in Aug 2012, the dealer had some brand new tyres on it "Starfire RSC 2.0" that I thought were going to be cheap and nasty. To my great surprise, these tyres have lasted me almost 60,000 km ( 56,060 KM - 116,000 KM ) of rough sydney suburban driving.  They have great grip in wet and dry condition, very good traction and great braking performance . I do however think they were a bit noisy (in cabin) but lets face it one of the greatest annoyance I have with my 2010 i30 is the road noise with what seems to be insufficient sound deadening for least to say, Sydney roads.

I can of course assess this tyre now that I have changed to Interstate Touring LST-1 ($115 AUD ea fitted) and the last month of driving I can notice the difference especially in lesser acceleration and bad cornering. From what I hear the Starfire tyre is also very cheap ( under 100).

Thanks for that!

BY "and the last month of driving I can notice the difference especially in lesser acceleration and bad cornering." do you mean the LST-1 are better or worse?

Hi, Yes, the LST-1 is worse in those aspects.

      Caloundra, Queensland.
Starfire are (I think) American owned, probably by Cooper Tires.
So they should be good.
Not sure where they are made though.

Interstate are definitely made in Asia somewhere. Is the tread pattern Directional?
