Thanks Recall Boy, so what happens if you get a flat on one of those motorways were they all drive like they are trying to stamp out an ants nest  ? and your driving like you have an egg under your throtle foot? cause you are useing the low speed spare.
but looks like you have about 1 inch lower floor should get a bit more in the rear than i can.

Just did a rough calculation and looks like slightly lower floor would add less than 5 litres to boot volume (can't see why they opted for that option in Europe) Might check the UK Hyundai Website to see what boot volume they quote if any.. 

EDIT: Boot capacity quoted for Aus & UK both 340 Litres ?  (as a comparison CW = 415 ltrs  - not a lot more)

Yeah.. My question mark was more related to the fact that space saver doesn't appear to increase boot capacity at all..

80 kph = 50 mph so its fast enough.

The idea of the space saver is probably down to cost but its use is just to get you mobile again. You should get the tyre repaired immediately and not leave it day/week/months, if you get the drift.

Car do not have to have a spare tyre, serviceable or knakkered, by law in the UK.

Looking at Hemmi's picture I take it that he has a full size spare.

By using a moulded odds and sods holder the floor panel is raised as it does not lie on the body floor panel like mine.  
By having this extra hight it allows for the extra depth of full size spare as it could not accommodate a full size spare if the moulded thingy was not there.

Hemmi or others with full size spare, can you take a picture with the rear seats down to see how flat the floor area is compared to mine?

I do have a red triangle but if I breakdown on a UK road, the UK law does not require me to use it.

Seals around the door are water tight.  No need to use duck tape.

instead of the cargo net - I have 2 elastic straps criss-crossing (occy straps to us Aussies), and mu compartments underneath are used to hold the green shopping bags

Your cargo area is "flat" compare to mine which has a slight ridge due to the lower floor panel.

That little compartment is for ISOFIX hooks, new style of child seat restraint.

As far as I am aware all Aussie hatches have same flat floor as Hemmi with seats folded and pretty much the same compartments... ..

Well thats go at least I know what the rear section looks like and where everything goes. My wife drives mine/ hers every day and the only time I will get near it is when it has a flat tyre so at least I know where it is now

Hemi, that great little i30 would never let us down! so no need for the saftly triangle, but still a good idea, our safty council only make truck use them. i think anything that can make you more vissable when broken down on a country road at night has to be a good thing. here they make me wonder sometimes!
