Hi guys does anyone know where the rear windscreen washer reservoir is located on the car? (for an i30 2009 model)
Thanks

I'm almost certain that it is a common reservoir, i.e. it is the one for the front windscreen too.

The rear washers on my first i30 suddenly stopped working yet the water tank was full and I could hear the pump running..

It turned out that the water feed pipe running inside the rear door had come adrift. The water was spraying inside the door, rather that out of the jets.

My windscreen washer wasn't! I cleaned the jets which helped, but still not too good. Checked pipes as best I could (quite a job lifting the lining of the bonnet. I found a pair of long nose pliers helped by getting under the round bit and squeezing the locking devices)
I siphoned off the water after cleaning inside  the container with a hose and trying the hot water trick to remove gunk that had accumulated, but was forced to get to the pump.  So I removed the front RH side wheel and the wheel liner (first time I had used the jack!), levered off the pump and associated tubes that is press fitted into the container. The pump input has a wire filter that was so full of gunk. I cleaned that after removing same. I found that it fitted inside the house taps nicely so the tap water helped clean it off.
I'm about to reassemble everything again (fingers crossed)

That should do the trick.

Please support your car with a proper stand. Don't rely on the jack, especially with a wheel removed.

Haven't heard from you since 2013, thanks for posting.  :goodjob2:

Yes Mr Phil No1. I did put bricks in front of and rear of rear tyre. Yes. it's been a while since contributing which says something about the vehicle!

BUT GOOD NEWS. The squirt from the front jets would send a bloke off to the moon if he was caught in it now. Or drive him to the other side of the world if he stood under the rear jet. Happy? VERY happy.

And I washed thecar and found quite a nice little diesel car under the grime! (smile)

I really need to do a similar thing.
The water stopped spraying... I tried a blast of compressed air ( gently ) down the hose, saw the water rise in the reservoir... Came good for a short time, then it's stopped spraying again...
Looks like a removal and cleaning of that filter...
I have a 2009 model also, so it's probably never been done before.
