Took the plunge, bought an i30 SLX Hatch sight unseen from the dealer down the road (about 400k away...) because the local dealer couldn't supply, had it a few days and love it. Traded a 2002 Accent that had, in 7 years, a set of plug leads, a light globe and a brake sensor switch replaced. Hope for a similar run from this one!

Welcome Gordon.  We always like to know which engine and colour also.  That way some of us can feel superior when your choices reconfirm our impeccable taste.   :D

Couldn't spring the extra for the diesel (there wasn't one available anyway)

Had to buy an auto as my wife is partly disabled and can't drive a manual (that's her excuse...)

Steel Gray was the only colour they had - take it or leave it. Next nearest dealership is about 800 km away, so I took it, got the windows tinted and it looks great.

I'll take it for a decent run tomorrow, and take my camera with me (check my website).

We are only having fun with you (Steel grey appears to be the most popular colour in Australia anyway) They seem to like black more in the UK..

Seems most with petrol I30s are happy with them.. (most with the diesel are ecstatic)

as I get older an Auto is becoming (slightly) more appealing ...

Glad you took it in the right spirit..

I like the Steel Grey but only had it in 2L petrol when I was buying my motor.

Yeah, I spotted the thread on that later. Looks like a good way to get around :) I used to fly out of Cairns airport but it got too expensive. FS is a somewhat cheaper alternative...
