Hi All , having been quoted £240 from a Hyundai dealer to supply, fit and re-program a new TPMS sensor to my 2008 i30 I resorted to trawling the web and found RL Automotive they were quoting £51.45 delivered for a self programming sensor, I called them and they told me once fitted just drive for 15 minutes and it will self program to the ECU. I was a bit sceptical but ordered one, a local tyre shop fitted it and just charged £6 for the balancing. Drove home and within 5 minutes the dash warning light and display picture had gone ,magic !

Nice find! Stupid question, can I hypothetically add this to my i30 that does not have the functionality to it? IE is it a complete system - ECU and valve monitor or are all the ECU's alike and I just need to get the valve monitors?

I think it is a complete system that is factory fitted but I'm sure other members will know for sure.

... £51.45 delivered for a self programming sensor ...

Is that just for the one sensor?

Hi Shambles , yes 1xsensor, but if you wanted more than  one you would save a bit on the postage for multiple quantity and yes dealer wanted that much for one. Did try another dealer they wanted £210.

In my opinion, TPMS is just a scam to have you back at the dealer every time it plays up.
