Hi guys this is my first post,
I have a 2013 Hyundai i30 5 door, I want to travel around a lot but need the 5 seats, which limits room the only option I have is roof racks my question is does any one reccomend a brand of roof rack for the i30 and also if anyone travels a lot how do you equip your i30 for travel, do you have set ups for the car, do you utilise roof space, throw some suggestions out there for me to look into to better equip the i30 for travelling and best brands for roof racks,
Thankyou

Hi Steve and welcome to the forum :)

We have recently been discussing/compairing racks in another topic which should be good for some ideas :link: [urgent help needed] Best Roof Racks for i30 hatch GD?

What type of traveling are you intending to do, hotels / motels, camping, etc. Might help to guide you on what is the best fit for your car, load limits etc.

Hi Steve.

 :wttc:

Can't help you with the roof racks as we normally hook the caravan on the i30 and then we have plenty of space....

Thanks guys,
I plan on doing camping more than anything travelling  around Australia is good but can be pricey so was leaning towards camping but need space ideas
How does the i30 tow the van, do you notice it on the back or does it handle extremely well?
And thankyou for the link

I do notice it on the back, of course, but the i30 do tow the 1400 kg very well. Our summer vacations go to Croatia, a 3400 km trip where we must drive through Austria and the Alps. Motorway is mostly done at ca 95 km/h but 100+ is possible

When doing the worst inclines approx 5 % on the motorways, it can still do 85 km/h in 4th gear.

Of course the 1400 kg is noticeable but the drag is the speed and economy killer. As you're only allowed to tow 1200 kg with the i30 in Aus I can see many of you use those pop-up vans, and the i30 will tow these with ease.

Actually, in 2008 the Kia Ceed CRDi (which we all know tecknically is the same car) won the title "towcar of the year" here in DK. Second came Nissan Qashqai 1,5 dCi and third was Toyota Auris 2,0 D4-D.
