Afternoon all, now the owner of a 2012 i30 estate. 1.6 diesel 109bhp 2nd generation. So far so good apart from the rubbish windscreen demister. Nice to have found a new home. Looking forward to picking some brains and helping out myself where I can. A quick look at the forums is promising, always great to see people willing to help one another. I prefer doing my own servicing if possible, why pay someone else to do something I'm quite capable of (and get some kind of inane pleasure from).  Anyhow, the football's about to start so that's enough from me for now

Rubbish demister ?????    C'mon it can't have change that much since I got mine.   My demister almost blows yer hat off.

You have set it to DEMIST and turned the fan up to FULL SPEED I take it ??????????????

If so, and it still isn't clearing the screen, it's back to the dealership with it

My 2014 demister is also rubbish, almost as if the aircon and anti-fogging are competing with each other. See your local Hy dealer if you're concerned; I'm not too concerned as it's not every day that I need to use the function.

Thank you all. I fitted a new filter regarding the demisting issue, still not great, takes several minutes to clear. Then a couple of weeks ago I thought I would try it the other way up (the wife usually drives the car). Yay, success. I did fit it the same way as it came out so I dismissed the idea that it had been incorrectly fitted. Arrow now points upwards.
