is the child lock activated?

If so, then I would not expect the door not to unlock/lock.

I would think that the door would only unlock if the child lock is deactivated.

It has child lock on put the central locking on the dashboard keeps going on and of when he try the handle

Isn't there a switch inside the door jam on the rear doors to disable them...   Which negates the electrics completely, so the prisoners children can't get out of the back doors ???????

On the FD, when you open the rear door, you will see the point where the interior trim ends and the painted edge of the door starts.

If you then look just below the nook you will see a little grey switch. Move the switch from the unlocked position to the locked position. This enables the 'child lock' preserving your sanity and the little ones Christmas gifts.

If you look at the door it is fairly obvious and looks a bit like this (not an I30, as I couldn't find an image)

Yes, a child lock is such ancient technology, I doubt it would fail. But up until this morning, I doubted that my car would have an oil leak, so never say never

Yep. I wondered if he was referring to the central locking switch. If the car doesn't have the automatic locking option or it isn't turned on, then his comments make sense.

He probably means HALO automatic locking.  Operating the rocker on a door handle will then unlock but HALO will then relock.

My HALO is disabled so I cannot check.

Once activated a person in the rear can not open the door or cause halo to deactivate.

The only way is the button is pushed or the ignition key removed.

Or in extreme youare in a car accident and the system automatically deactivates.

In my car if a person in the back wants to get out or a person outside want to get in, then i have to press the unlock button on the dash or remove the ignition key.

When it is on and he is try the handle the switch goes on then off cuss he is pulling on it 2 hard the door will not open on him cuss of child lock is on
