I recently swaped my factory headunit with a 2din system and since then my cc works like crap, turns on but doesnt engage or doesnt turn on at all.  Can my radio cause problems with my cruise control?

It does not appear to be linked, so should not affect the c/c :)

Who installed the new unit? If installed yourself did you T into any other power supply wires or fuse wires for additional features the new head unit has :undecided:

I did installed it myself but I used to factory harness adapter that came with the unit, so no i didnt T into any other circuit.

Will retry the OEM unit just to see if there a difference, hopefull yes, if not i guess ill have to take it to the dealer

So the cruise will turn on (cruise light on dash) but will not set?
Does the set light flicker when set button pressed?
I can't figure why radio replacement would cause this, go over all fuses and failing that chuck the old unit back in to test.

Being an auto, I can only imagine that the connection to the brake switch or the switch itself is somehow faulty. If not, then some kind of broader earthing problem created by your work with the wiring is making the brake switch voltage level borderline in its logic state.

I have had long term problems with my cruise control that Hyundai seem unable to fix.

I will have it set at say 110 kmh and come into a 100 zone. I will arrow down on the steering wheel to slow down and not go anywhere near the brakes and intermittently the CC disengages.

Hyundai have replaced brake and clutch switches more than once.

They have not been able to isolate the problem.

Whenever I put it in to service it is a fight to get them to look at it. They say they can't replicate, but when I check on my dashcam they have only taken it for a spin around the block.

I regularly drive from Sydney to the Central Coast or Newcastle up the freeway and sometimes it works OK for the first 15 minutes and then will not work. Other times it disengages almost immediately. I convinced them to let me take a mechanic for a drive 2 services ago and was able to demonstrate the problem.

Now where is the head banging against the wall emoticon?

I read about similar problems with a Kia Venga on a dutch forum.
Turned out that the grounding of the steering wheel controls was bad.
After replacing the wheel the cc worked ok.

Maybe they should look in that direction

It is amazing that people don't recognise how technology is making them more accountable.
