 A homeowner is stubbornly refusing to allow authorities to demolish his house – even though it sits in the middle of a main road.

The property in Nanning, southern China, is a 'nail house' - the name given to homes that stick out from the land like a single nail and of which the owners refuse to accept relocation compensation.

To make matters worse, the owner does not even live in the one-storey dwelling, which sits in the middle of Yaning Road so that drivers have to drive right round it, the Telegraph reported.
