The man behind Tesla and SpaceX has been doing some interesting things with commercial space rockets, cars in tubes, the internet in space and electric cars – as well as some views on how AI could kill us all.
But in his latest move, the tech entrepreneur has come up with something pretty impressive, and it’s called Tesla Energy.
In a nutshell the new system breaks down into two products, Powerwall and Powerpack, both of which are built around big, rechargeable batteries. The Powerwall is designed for the average home, mounted on a wall in or outside the house. The idea is to use solar panels to gather power from the sun, and the Powerwall stores it and uses it to power the home.
