Has anyone got one of these TF 101, TF300, TF700

If so, can you please tell me if it supports wifi ad hoc as most androids don't have it enabled.

I have a nexus 7 which I installed a Cyanogenmod rom  so I could have this option but I'm after a Android with a 10.1 screen with ad hoc already installed

thanks

I have an ASUS TF201... I'm not sure what ad hoc means?  :undecided:

It obviously supports WiFi although due to the metal body it can be a bit flaky with weak signals.  :Pout: (and it needs more Ram, only has 1 GB) :spitty:

Its for setting up your own network. I have a device called  skyfi which i use to control my telescope remotely  from inside the house and when I've got a camera attached to the telescope I can view what my scope see's on my dedicated pc for astro  using my rooted  Nexus7 but I need a bigger screen. The skyfi box has it's own wifi network which is ad hoc and pc's and and ipads can see this network

I am supposed to have a fairly hi IQ (133) but can be dumb with some things. How do I check if the T201 can do this?

Sorry Daz but I've got no idea also, The only time I see ad hoc is when I switch on the skyfi device and then it say 'connected to skyfi ad hoc device' and as soon as i turn it off it disappears from the wifi network list . the ad hoc network is 10.0.0.1

Thanks Daz, sometime back I read somewhere on the net that a guy was using skyfi and he had 2 tablets 300 and 700 and I'm sure he said that ad hoc was enabled and he didn't need to root it. Something to do with the later version OS that Asus enabled it.

I'm gonna get a cheap 300 series off ebay and if it dosn't support ad hoc I'll have to root it like my nexus7

hehe, I've just bought myself a TF300T with keyboard and case for £90

I have one PC, one laptop, one tablet and a smart phone. I wouldn't dare get any more. (But there's two old but working, laptops in a drawer ).

However, when it comes to watercraft - 5 surfboards, one kayak, one windsurfer. I'm thinking about a Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP), but I think that might be pushing it.

You might struggle to get stock Android to connect to an adhoc network (it's geared up for router-oriented infrastructure comms)... rooting and romming cyanogenmod might be your only choice.

Looks like I'm gonna have to go down that road again, I was crapping it when I did the Nexus as I didn't want to brick it. Just had a email from the guy and it should be here tomorrow
