Hey All,
So my issue is that my new 2015 i30 active's headlights seem very dim compared to my old 2011 Holden Cruze SRI. Can anyone help with this?
I'm findong it harder to see when I'm driving at night.
Any thoughts!

Plus is there anyway I can install DRL's?
Or
Auto headlights? I miss that more than I thought possible.

Thanks heaps. I'm in Qld

Being a new car the headlights should be adjusted when delivered, but maybe have the dealer check.  Have you accidently adjusted the headlights by adjusting them from inside the cabin..? The adjuster is placed right side to the steering wheel.

I thought the SR had DRLs and auto lights! The FD had only average headlights but I thought the GD would be better! (We don't usually use the wife's GD tourer at night so can't compare with our previous 2 x FDs

Wait there is an adjuster!
Oh! I'd say I've not touched it, since I had no clue...
Might check with the dealer, I find they sit too low and not bright enough.

Yeah I think it does.... Unfortunately my budget couldn't get me that far :(
I more want DRL, than auto headlights (I can keep my actual headlights on all the time and they switch off with the car)
I find them way lighter than the Cruze lights. I'm a shorty too so I need the light to help see better.
Only downside, I can never work out when parking where the front of the bonnet is :(

DRL's can be bought here :link: Genuine Parts DRL FOG Light Lamp FOG Cover FIT Hyundai 2012 2013 2014 I30 | eBay you'll have to get an auto electrician to wire up the LED/DRL's but the fog lights are plug and play.

As Asterix mentioned! have you adjusted the light levelling dial so that the lights are raised as high as they'll go, just turn the dial all the way and watch if they go up or down with the lights shining on a wall or up the road, the highest setting is the standard position and if there is load in the rear you gradually adjust the dial to lower the beam.

Wow! You might get an SR if you write it off!

RE: your earlier question, Super cheap and Autobarn offer a range of brighter Osram and Philips globes and might even swap them over for you for a small charge. They have displays where you can push buttons to compare the colour and brightness.

They are rated/called things like extreme or +50/+80 to indicate their outputs. They may not last as long as the OEM globes if you use your lights a lot. (Keep the originals as spares in you glove box)

Pretty sure there is no manual headlight height adjuster in the Korean built GD's...  :undecided:

My Korean built GD doesn't have any headlight adjustment, there are blanks where I assume upper level trims may have it.

I haven't driven a cruze so I can't compare however I find my lights more than adequate.

No button to adjust on the Korean built ones :(
But the Dealer adjusted them and I now have more visibility :D
They had to use a screw driver... I may have been too busy checking out the HOT AS mechanic than watching what he was doing
