The 2012 FD having the 135000km/9 year schedule is a mystery to me.

Actually, while I have your attention, do you know why, with the 2012 Accent diesel the fuel filter is required to be changed every 60,000k yet with the i30 diesel it's 30,000?
I contacted Hyundai Australia regarding it and ended up having some clown try to tell me they are in a different state of tune but when I pointed out that they quote the same power and torque figures for both he didn't have an answer...
All the figures any manufacturer quote are only recommendations,in this case Hyundai has probably actually listened to their consumers and realized they are trying to milk the cow to many times in a week.
I've known fuel filters which are capable of 100,000 K's and others which have been lucky to last a week,get what you pay for I suppose,I know the system I have in my truck the primary and secondary filters very rarely get changed,the pre-filter does most of the work,but at 4K minimum I won't be installing one on my vehicles
