Only five and a half weeks left out of the nine week original wait and boy is it dragging. Can't wait to get my nice red shiny new i30ES.

Sadly I'll get the 09 plates, due to collect 28th August. The next 4 weeks will seem like 4 months.

Just make sure they don't register it during August...

For our non-UK members, our cars have registration plates that usually indicate when the car was registered. Generally, it's used like oneupmanship on the neighbours (well it is for me when I get my new cars ;))

Fergie was reg'd in March 2008 and has an "08" plate. September 2008 saw the "58" plates appear. March this year we got the "09"s appearing. In September Mr bulldog180 should get a "59" plate.

This has been a public information broadcast :D

Being a tight-git Scottish person I on the other hand start haunting round the dealers the couple of months before the new plates come out, I can then pick up a pre-reg (one that they have put the old plates onto) for much bargainage cos they need to get them off the forecourt in order to bring in the new stock.

I don't care about the age (you don't need to when you own the coolest and rarest car in the neighbourhood )

If you haven't asked already its worth asking your dealer in about 2 weeks time if you can see their list of allocated 59 registrations, so you can pick one. Obiously it will probably only be the numbers or a few letters that vary, but nice to pick all the same.

Means you can check you didn't get allocated a plate ending in COK or NOB too!
