No, I haven't seen any yet... I reckon it will look pretty flash in that popular Getz colour...

So I will reward the first person to take and post a genuine picture of a sky blue i30....

by .... not posting any corny jokes for a week...

That's o/k . it's a bit like Hyper Silver it looks different in different lights (sometimes looks darker than my picture)

I think it will look good in the i30 shape...

They didn't have any at my dealership either. I don't mind Sky Blue - one of my Getzes was Celadon Blue (the earlier version of Sky Blue) and it was nice.

I'm not sure how it'll look on the i30 but looking forward to seeing it. I might be having to choose a colour again soon...

I would be amazed if they write her off

Although if all six airbags are activated in a car that's 2years or more old that can ge a reason to write them off in some cases!

I must say I hope they don't... the damage to the B pillar is the only thing that worries me. If it gets properly assessed as not being bent at all I'm happy with that - but if the pillar has moved at all I will be pushing pretty hard for a write-off. I don't want someone I care about getting killed because Crystal's had a hit there before. If the pillar is damaged and they fix it anyway I think I'll trade her in on another one.

Hopefully the fretted paint on the pillar is not a sign of real damage. Crystal's such a great car, I don't want to lose her.  :'(

Seen some i30s in the new blue. Much nicer then the moonlightblue.

BUT seem the body kit on the SR was a different shade. not sure if it was just the ones i saw or all of them across the board that have this.

Thanks Dazz, she's being assessed on Tuesday so all will be revealed...

some piccies here on Drive.com.au
it looks more silver to me (on laptop anyway)

http://www.drive.com.au/used-cars/HYUNDAI/I30/Newcastle/detail.aspx?id=12177280&lid=12177280&pg=1&pp=1&d=0&nv=1&SG=651248914&pt=1

Looks silver to me too - certainly doesn't look like the Sky Blue on Getzes - maybe it's the camera that took those photos. Also looks quite different to the (admittedly synthetic) image on the Hyundai Australia website.

Still want to see one in the flesh...

i'd rather the moonlight blue to this and thats saying a lot (but will wait til see it in person)

Moonlight Blue seems to be one of those colours where some people love it and some... um... don't.

It's not my scene, but lots of people say it's the bestest colour ever. Still can't find a Sky Blue one in the flesh...

I can see vague hints of blue in those photos. Reminds me of the colour of the commodore I used to drive. Its colour is 'Dove Grey' but to me it looks like metallic lilac, (hence we named it the purple car, original, no?) though everyone else just saw it as grey.

There were certain slants of light though that did make people see the colour how I saw it though - so I wasn't just crazy. >.>

Saw one today, it looked quite nice but quite different to the Getz colour - I don't know why but it seems the shape makes the colour look somehow milder.

It looked to me quite a lot like the first CarSales pics. Sorry i didn't get any happy snaps - will try to next time I see one.

Thanks for the feedback and pictures so far.. looking at those carsales pix I would say it is the same colour as my old getz...

That used to look different depending on the day ...

I parked next to a few the same colour during the 12 months or so we had her and the shade seemed to vary a bit car to car (if that is possible  :P)

i think, that pearl white colour the new Lexus have would be nice on the i30. i notice white looks very nice on the i30 as long as its with white door handles and SLX mags

Yes, Mazda has a nice white on the 6 too. White does look nice on an i30 right up until the side of the car gets trashed.

The white doesn't also look that crash hot when it's subjected to dirty rain over a period of time without washings to alleviate the problem.

driving behind a white i30 couple months back now, and its entire back end was red dirt. seems the wind draft pushes it all onto the back hatch. i've seen a couple other white cars not cleaned either and its almost as bad as having the black one i think.

white was my second colour choice but ended up scratching it off list due to the dust issue

hmmm Crystal never got dirty enough to really show it...

I find the wing on the SR helps keep the rear a bit cleaner than the ones without the wing. I have seen some i30s with the rear end matted with dirt like you said, but mine never looked like doing that.

hi all,

joined just to let you know what i thought about "sky blue".

went to the dealership the other day to check out the colour.

it is not like the current getz "lolly blue" colour.

it is more like the first "dull" blue carsales.com pic but a tad brighter.  it is definitely a light blue (like the big getz pic in this post) but in the sunlight there is a teal/greeny tone to it (which is why the other carsales.com car looks aqua),  much like the colour that comes up on the hyundai (australia) website when you hit "sky blue" for the i30.

i'm not impressed with the colour, and i don't think it makes the i30 look its best like the white or silver.  definitely not a colour for gays.

i would have preferred "moonlight blue" but now i am think i'll just go with the "safe" continental silver and endure the 12 week wait and blend in with all the other cars on the road.

btw i'm after the auto 1.6 diesel slx wagon.
