currently i have both RACQ and Ford Roadside Assist (from last service they gave that to me for free) and i wouldn't mind canning the RACQ if hyundai have assistance

Snowcherry, Hyundai does have roadside assit -  http://www.hyundai.com.au/hyundaipremiumassist, but it only applies to 2009 Sonata, Grandeur and Santa Fe models.

snowcherry, i don't think betsy would ever let me down, but her tyres could go flat but she came with tools to change tyre's and fit the spare.
check your oil check your water, check your tyre pressure, check tyre condition, get an easy to use battery tester. check all those things regular and have the car serviced on time and you should not need to worry.
cheers

In Tassie the local Hyundai Dealer (Motor Pty. Ltd.) gives complementary Road-side assistance if you get them to service your car.. (but they aren't cheap so you are sort of paying for it on the side...

ahh that explains why i thought i'd seen it at some point. thanks for that  :)

after reading all the replies seems i should keep the RACQ going then.
not having anything isn't an option for me, yes i can keep everything up to scratch like i do with my Ford, but when you're doing a 100 on the highway and something on the road shreds a tyre then outside mechanical help is quite beneficial!

and no i cannot change a tyre - i'd break a nail

Interesting... never considered that Hundai doesn't provide this as it was always a given with our Mazdas. Although when you lease a vehicle, roadside assist is a given for the life of the vehicle. Generally provided by Fleet Partners or one of the other larger fleet managers.

I got roadside assist but I purchased my i30 through Private Fleet.  Not sure how their service is out in the woop-woops though.  Hope I never have to find out

Probably no better or worse than all the others - if there is a dealer near-by they would contract them to get to you, if not they would just call a local mechanic (this is what all of them do out here "in the sticks" - worst-case scenario, they send a tow-truck and give you a loan car.

You're right - http://www.hyundai.com.au/Surfs-up-for-the-Hyundai-iLoad/default.aspx

I went back to the dealer today to leave a deposit on my i30 and I was asked if I wanted to pay for roadside service through Toyota -  it's 6 years for $376. Has anyone been offered roadside service through another car company??

I probably shouldn't say anything... but I can't help myself.  I overheard the Hyundai sales manager say that yesterday the NSW Police placed an order for 15 i30cw wagons...  I can't wait to see them in uniform...  :-[

Most roadside assist services car companys offer just end up using RACV (or the equivalent in other states). So some times its worth check out if ravc will beat the price of the one your being offered.
