Hi still waiting for car to come and i wondered do the front seats have airbags ( and iam not talking about some wife's) as i thought about add seat covers before the kids get in,  seen some nice ones to match the car , if they do  have built on airbags this will effect the deployment of the airbags. cant find details in the  book that i got from dealer. Model of car 1.6 comfort. Hippo

welcome hippo. I don't know what that model comes with being from way down here, but if the specifications say it has side airbags, they are in the seats. If you drove one before you bought, the cars that have side bags also have little tags sewn on to the seats saying Airbag. You can get airbag compatible seat covers too. :-)

I think in almost all countries, i30's come standard with front and side airbags as well as airbag curtains..

thanks guys for your help i was so in awe when i was looking at the car in the showroom i forgot to ask, i know about the side/curtain airbags but not the seats, guess all new cars have seat airbags, Still , i did'nt know about compactable covers, great,, againn thanks guys Hippo

All UK models have the full complement of air bags, including the thorax/seat side ones. This poses a specific problem for me. I have a bad habit of resting my right elbow on the right hand window ledge in my current car. If I continue to do this on the new one there is a chance I'll punch myself in the face or have other elbow injuries from a bag deployment, so I have to do what the driving instructor told me decades ago. I know its bad, I'm going to stop  

Proably wouldn't want to hang anything on the inside grab handles too....
