The incident occurred on Pear Tree Lane just outside Hempstead, near Gillingham. The road user who recorded the splintering action said the falling foliage was responsible for “badly damaging (the) oncoming vehicle” and “moderately damaging” their own.

No injuries to humans were reported and one YouTube user remarked how “lucky” the drivers had been, adding that it “could have been a lot worse”.
