Hi everyone on the Forum,
Just as an intro, I live in Tasmania and just purchased a used i30 Elite Wagon from Pickles Auctions in Sydney.  Flew up to Sydney and drove the car to Melbourne and put it on the ferry to Tas.
Very, very happy with the car, handles well and is very quiet.  Not too happy with the headlights though, is this a problem with the i30?

I look forward to picking every ones brains on how to look after such a great car.

Welcome from a founding Member of the site who is also from Tassie. Yes, some are happy with the lights but a lot of owners feel they could be brighter. Plenty on here about it. You can improve them with Osram Night breakers, Philips + bulbs or a few other options. Some have found theirs set a bit low. Try adjusting them up slightly. An led light bar mounted on a nudge bar works well too... have a browse in the appropriate section

I don't recall seeing much on here regarding poor lighting. Perhaps you could have it looked at to see if the alignment is still correct?

As Dazz has said, maybe consider Nightbreakers for more lighting output? I can't see if you have the FD or GD version but I have HID's in my 2011 FD (legal here in ZA, but you would need to check your local laws and regulations that side for compliancy) and they are pretty good compared to most cars I have driven.
