Didn't expect the i30 to get this one again with all new competitors out there.  Also Genesis won best large car <$70k but KIA has really cleaned up with.  If you're on twitter the awards are happening now on #AustaliasBestCars

Australia's Best Cars Winners

Australia's Best Cars, Australia's most comprehensive car awards program, is conducted by the NRMA and six other state auto clubs - RACV, RACQ, RAASA, RACWA, RACT and the AANT.

The 2015 Australia's Best Cars Awards winners have been announced, with a total of 15 cars judged to be the top in their respective categories in the country.

This year, the NRMA is launching an all-new tool, Best Cars. Best Cars brings together all the data from the Australia's Best Cars program and allows users to fill in their own criteria to determine which vehicle best suits their needs. Best Cars is an independent car review site with no commercial affiliation and is the only car evaluation tool that publishes its scores. It offers a deep analysis of the winners and finalists, as well as videos on each of the winners.

The awards are conducted by expert judges from auto clubs around Australia, with the NRMA represented by Online Motoring Content Editor Jaedene Hudson and Senior Motoring Writer Tim Pomroy.

In addition to the 15 category winners, Australia's Best Cars also selects one winner as the Judges' Choice. This award recognises an affordable vehicle (priced under the luxury car tax threshold) that has made the greatest contribution to the Australian market or is deemed by the judges as the stand-out winner either through its technology, safety, innovation or ability to meet or exceed consumer expectations. It must offer good fuel efficiency relative to its class and perform its intended function well.

In total, 180 cars were assessed throughout 2015 and, of these, 45 finalists were chosen to undergo rigorous road tests over five days. Factors such as Running and Repair Costs, Fuel Consumption, Depreciation and Safety were all taken into consideration when selecting the winners.

The result is the nation's most comprehensive guide to buying the best new car. Whether you're looking for a micro city car, a sports car or a dual cab ute, Australia's Best Cars and the Best Cars tool will help ensure you make an informed decision when you buy your next car.
