Congrats on the new car.  Did you have tint installed?  Maybe they didnt clip something back in properly when they took off the door trims to tint the windows, just a thought - seeing it happened so quickly after leaving the dealers.

I hope you get done to the bottom of the rattling..I'm glad I don't have that problem because it would drive me bonkers... I'm still waiting on the dealer to get back to me on my loose spoiler and I just realised that one end of my side skirts is also a bit loose.  I have my first service tomorrow so hopefully it will all be fixed.
/

I love the bigger cup holder!!  One thing I don't like is the sunglasses holder.. I can't fit my sunnies.

you know today it didn't rattle!  well not on the right anyway. it started rattling on the left.
i got hyundai to look at it anyway while they were putting my weathershields on but they could only hear a light 'creak' which i heard on the drive home. so obviously the "rattle" is changing - perhaps hopefully its just settling in and won't stay around.

i thought my sunnies wouldn't fit either, but i worked out if i put them in sort of lying side down they go in...i was going to be rather put out if i couldn't use the holder. it took me a day to figure that out and had the holder open for most of it

not yet, its not booked in for another two weeks.
i played around yesterday pushing at the seams of the car and today it didn't rattle as i mentioned.
after hyundai played with it today the kid there said he pushed on the tweeter a bit and thought it 'clicked' in and after that was when he said it was creaking, which i noticed to when i drove home. so the noise is coming from around that corner.
i'll leave it til the tint is done at least and just see how it settles etc

and thank you :)

rather than make any special announcement
i got window tinting done today

*boogies*

i have noticed one air bubble around the silly little warning sticker on the driver side, you know i assumed they would just peel them off and never thought about it, anyway
i would have liked a tint strip along the top of the windscreen like my old car had but apparently its set legally by how high your wipers travel, which with the i30 is too high. bit of a bummer. i'm a bit of a shortie so i get blinded at certain times of the day even with the visor right down.

and i get a dash mat and rear mudflaps on friday,.
looking good Snow!

How dark is the tint??

the tint is darkest legal, though i don't think it looks particularly dark  - i've never had it before so its very new to me. he showed me another car beforehand which did look quite dark. he said it still has some drying yet so may still go a tad darker but also mentioned the hyundai doesn't have  a particularly 'dark' glass to begin with like ford for e.g do. but i did notice when driving to work the shade difference between the window to the windscreen so all good  :D

hey dijana i won't spur you on if you won't spur me on, hey have you seen the cute LED angel wings for back quarter windows *cough cough*

eeek don't let *them* get me

I've gone for 20%.. trust me I wish I didn't because I have to squint or have my window down at night.. it's actually a bit freaky driving out late with no cars on the road and not being able to NOTHING but pitch black when looking at the rear view mirror.  I listened to the old man in getting the darker tint.. if I listen to him I'll also be getting angel eyes... noooooo....

Get those LED Angel wings Tracey.. you know you want to...  And the dual exhaust... do it, do it, do it...

ahh well that does make me feel better about the choice then actually, sorry dijana
i doubt i would ever get dual exhaust, i think it would be awefully expensive just for a mod, but the little angel wings are rather cute  :-[

so Snow went past 1000 k's today (like a mini birthday really )
she'll be off to her 1st service very soon, hopefully friday if i can book it in

so some brief impressions (my own benefit more so)

still find her "flighty" but fun
disappointed in the road noise level to some extent
exceptionally happy with her overall performance e.g takeoff, power, zippiness
have been a bit down about how much getting out the tank but its possible its not actually being "filled" to quota so still testing this
reversing can be slow/heavy sometimes
notice i've felt much more comfortable over a week of driving in the car, i have a bad back/neck and a week driving in my old car could be tough some weeks.
cruise control is great and helps with aforementioned back problems
disappointed in stereo speaker quality for my high expectations but it is adequate enough
she is pretty pretty pretty.....did i say pretty?
i have a rattle in my rear vision mirror - get looked at in 1000k service.

while it may seem some downers outweigh my good points, that is far from the truth in driving. i am so stoked in this car. while i am certainly getting used to it, and tiny littlle things here an dthere could be improved, i am just enthralled and really enjoy driving it. i am very happy with Snow

^gee mechanics used to be able to just lay their hands near a car and know exactly what was wrong and see vibrations and flaws with their special ray vision
standards have dropped so much these days

Oh yeah... standards have changed.
Those mechanics would do that all day, every day...
Stop at the pub on his way home for a schooner or seven, then DRIVE home.
His Mrs would have had half a snag, three spuds, and a left over carrot in the cupboard... but she would whip him up a 4 course gourmet meal from it, and have it waiting for him on the table.

Yeah,  things sure have changed !

You wouldn't DARE drive after more than one schooner these days !!!!!

LUXURY!
after grandads long day pulling apart and rebuilding a whole car in a day while drinking on the job, having seven plus pints, he would return home to my grandma slaving away over a woodfire stove cooking up a five course meal out some bread, gruel and and a piece of spinach!

You'll find the economy improves after 10-15k km.  I find the stereo sounds much better with MP3 - it sounds a bit flat listening to the radio tho.
