Evening Everyone,

How does the manual diesel go with a little load like 4 adults? Is it noticeable that your say carrying an extra 240kg's then when driving on your own. I ask because it isn't something one can try when you go for a test drive!

Thanks

I had 4 in the car last weekend, including 3 BIG blokes...

You can notice the load, but its not bad...  the car has SPADES of torque, plenty to spare... the little 1.6ltr CRDi still pulls fine.  Even up hill.

No worse than putting 4 adults in a Commodore or Falcon, sure you can notice it, but... no big deal.

Thanks Blue!!

Sounds like another tick for the Diesel wonder car. Seems like it is a damn hard car to fault.

Cheers

I concur with Blue. Not too much loss of oomph but I did notice a few extra puffs of blue smoke when I needed to tonk it a bit. That was last Xmas.

Thanks for your comments guys!!

For someone that has last driven a 4cyl when he learnt to drive over 20 years ago my concern is the transition from the bigger Ausssie 6cyl but Blue sent me a personal message backing up the fact the transition will not be a big thing.

Just another tick for the I30 diesel!!

Cheers

TwoDogs, like everyone say's the i30 CRDi man handles it ( 4 adults ) ok, but mate if 4 weigh 250kg they are not very large, what i call large would be more like 440kg. i've had that in mine you feel it a lot more. but for a 1.6 it handles it ok 255nm@ 2,000rev so keep rev's over 2,000 and you should be sweet, just if this is happening regularly i would buy a larger car.
cheers

Even the 2.0L petrol pulls fine, and I have had 4 blokes (including myself), and my girlfriend, and still pulled fine up Bulli Pass near Wollongong. Sure, I couldn't get to 3rd, but it still made it :D

The CRDi does this stuff effortlessly, just as it does everything else.

The biggest problem the diesel would have going up Bulli Pass is those little white signs, at the side of the road, that have black numbers in a red circle on them.  Staying under the speed limit would be hard.

Well had a 30 minute test drive yesterday without a salesman and everything you guys have been saying about the I30 diesel is spot on. Bloody hard to fault and has some great torque. I jumped back into my V6 commodore and it felt like a slug in comparison.

All I need to do now workout what colour I want!!

A SLUG that uses two to three times the fuel too !!!!!

The CRDi's  punch way above their weight class.
Glad you drove one, its the only way to know what they go like.

The colour you choose may be determined by stock levels mate.
Sometimes you have to wait MONTHS for the colour of your choice.
Might be an idea to line up a couple as 1st and 2nd preferences, then see what the dealers have available.
Dealers are usually pretty good about moving stock around... they brought one up from Melbourne to Newcastle for me (no cost).

I love hearing people after they've had a drive.. I did a quick 250 highway kms yesterday and she was in the mood to gobble them up... Commodores and Falcons must wonder what's under the bonnet .... Had a Commodore ute hanging with me and for some reason my LPH was down a couple of points to 5.2 wonder what his was  :D

LPH?

I think Commodore and Falcon fuel usage is measured in tonnes mate !

I went to a dealer yesterday and took some photos of the different colours available but it still hard to picture what the final product will look like with the options fitted.
All part of the fun isn't it?

Certainly the I30 diesel is a little potent vehicle.
