I just need a shoulder to cry on!

Car is ruined as far as I'm concerned no matter how good the repair and I'm absolutely devastated.

I'm sorry to see the damage. I'm starting to think i30's are targets.

Car is ruined as far as I'm concerned no matter how good the repair and I'm absolutely devastated.

I know you wont feel like it much consolation now,  but much of it should get replaced with brand new panels.

It doesn't look like vandalism to me... anyway, I guess with over 850 members a certain percentage are going to have things happen....

Still very sad though...

I followed a young lad in a Peugeot into a two lane roundabout. He was indicating left and I was going right (third exit).
I passed him as I rounded the roundabout and as I went into my exit road there he was on my inside! He must have changed his mind and expected me to read it as well!

He just had to have alloys straight off a war chariot fitted which have absolutely knacked the car!
It's only a car I know and the important thing was no one was hurt but I cannot see a satisfactory conclusion from this incident. Insurance companies are just going to share liability to save court costs so I'll have to stump up £400 excess for a bodged up car.

Unfortunately these things can happen so easily...I have had similar things happen and eventually the pain subsides but it takes a while...

Yea, it's all part of motoring I suppose but it's the first time in 30 years this has happened to me and I'd forgotten how much it hurts! :'(
I'll come to terms with it and the news coming in of tsunamis in the Pacific puts everything into perspective.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

If you had passed him and he decided to change direction then you are NOT AT FAULT.  His insurance should pay all costs.

I would take it back up with your insurance company and explain you are not at fault etc etc

Obviously, I agree with what you say but without independent witness's what can I do? I'm suspicious about the lad (he can't have been over 20 years old) because he was so calm and composed, as if this sort of incident was a routine occurence. When I was that age I would have been either very accusational or very apologetic. He was neither, yet courteous and relaxed. I cannot see where a 'scam' of some description could be in his interest but maybe I'm just naive. Other than getting my home address what could he gain?

:'(  Feel for you.  Push your insurance to cover it in full.  If main road perhaps the council will have CCTV to cover the roundabout and back up your story.   Stay positive because underneath the mess is still your lovely car - it will be repaired and it will look great very soon.  Petrang

There is a consequental loss scam but the MO doesn't seem to fit.

Checked his ID?

Checked he is insured?
Obviously you are only allowed to check your own insurance here ;-)

Did you check his car is taxed?

I recently had an accident with no witnesses, and I am pleased to say I won, they paid up without it going to court.

Oh man I feel your pain I had almost identical accident 8 or so years ago some punk was so busy talking on the phone he missed his left turn and when he realized he did and try to make it and I was in HIS way.

Funny thing was when we both stopped and came out of the cars he immediately started yelling at me for crashing into him. I very calmly explained to the cop what happened and I know he believed me but without witnesses he couldn’t determine whose fault it was since we both had our sides smashed.

Spinners they fit on center of wheel like some old race cars.
Sorry to see that ithur, you need to ensure you are not in there blind spot when you move up beside a car going into a roundabout, no matter what they indicate. but too late. the parts that are damaged most are easy to remove and replace. just find a high quality repared and could not tell differece after.
cheers mate
