I really liked the ProCeed (see here http://www.kia.co.uk/New-Cars/Range/Mid-Sized/Proceed.aspx) but the fact you can only get them in 3dr put me off (the last time, now that Eilidh can get in and out herself might alter my thinking :D)

I did think of Buying the Ceed, want to showroom many times and was very tempted....almost brought it... then a found out  about the i30 and fell in love, brought it with 1 look. But i wondered if they (Hy) ever thought of it, i know Kia is hy's sister's comp, but i Heard that Kia is not so good as Hy (made me even more happy i got an I30).......... but yes i Would buy the Proceed for racing ( if i had lots of money and was any good at it )

I think they should make something like that definitely.

The Kia Cerato Koup (related to the i30) which was just released here in Australia looks awesome I reckon. I was tempted by one, but I went and drove it and found you can't get leather (here anyway) and the interior trim is an incredibly crappy fake suede that looks more like terry towelling , the general fit and finish wasn't as good as the i30, the quality of the interior plastics wasn't as good as the i30 and the drive-by-wire throttle of the 2.0 motor was just dreadful. Also, the one I drove would have struggled to pull the skin off a rice pudding despite having 10kW more than a 2.0 i30.

If Hyundai brought out something that looked this good but was an i30 underneath... now that's a mouth-watering prospect!

That IS an i30 underneath...  in the words of Mr Clarkson, "near enough as to make no difference" at least.

i'm going to ask a question here: WHY would you buy a 2 door?
is it because it looks sportier? some other reason?

my sole reason for buying a 2/3 door hatch over a 4/5 door hatch would be to save money, i.e buying a 3 door Mazda2 over a 5 door Mazda2.
if its for sporty reasons then maybe i'm looking at the wrong car i dunno (obviously i haven't bought a sporty 2 door car before)

i think a 2 door i30 could have its place but only if its for the purpose i'd buy one for, and thats getting an even cheaper i30. i do however prefer to have 4 doors even as a single person, as occasionally i do use my back seats or have passengers; and i still hold resentments towards waiting for someone else to get out of the front seat and trying to figure out the damn seat thingy to get out of the car!
