This is an interesting thread on the UK KIA forum.

KIA seem to have a reasonable attitude towards maintaining the warranty - even when a service has been missed.

Thanks Alan. Common sense prevails (that is rare in this day and age!)

Thanks for the post :goodjob:

Hmm.. that's a useful precedent, especially as it seems to be endorsed by Kia Customer Service.

I've often considered trying to get official Hyundai representation on board with our forum. Hmm... cogs turning...

You will see that the KIA UK forum have a board titled "KIA Customer Support" where members can post questions, moans and groans etc. KIA are quite good at responding - even though some of their answers are unpalatable to complainants. The cost of map updates and the age of the maps are a long running sore because KIA cars in Europe get free updates.

KIA also keep an eye on all other boards and jump in when they can offer positive help or when they are unjustly criticised.

It's what Hyundai should do - in the UK you now see more KIA than Hyundai cars (except for the i10 versus Picanto) and KIA seem to have a greater presence all-round.

And I am not saying that because I have a KIA.

You will also see that the KIA forum is not anywhere near as vibrant as this one - and there are more illiterates that post there. There is not much banter or humour to chew on. Finally - this forum is streets ahead on technical knowledge and support.
