Hyundai Australia has announced a precautionary recall of 37,334 previous-generation i30 models over a potential electronic stability control (ESC) fault.

In essence, the potentially life-saving system fitted to these vehicles may not work, due to a problem at the time of assembly. ESC stabilises a vehicle if it steps out and escapes the control of the driver.

The recall campaign announced this week affects FD-series Hyundai i30 models sold in Australia between December 18, 2010 and March 29, 2012.

I thought it was the GD wagon that had that ESC fault. From what I know it was rectified on the GD(a software glitch on the CRDI 110hp, others were unaffected).

Guessing its the same glitch but on the FD there recalling for.
