It's great this 5 year warranty thing, but that might be seen as fair wear and tear

Happened to my bros knob in his BF XR6T, it was replaced under warrenty after abit of an argument....

If it was scratched or something i could see them having a problem but if it has just bubbled then it should be replaced no worries

Not seen that one Dazz, have you had really hot weather, looks like it has stretched in the heat to me

We don't get REALLY hot weather we had one day over 30 degrees C I think this year .. I don't use the dealer for servicing but I bet if I go in they will try it on... "we will fix it at the next service"

It's great this 5 year warranty thing,

I'm reliably informed that this unit is not replaceable as a single unit.  
The only way to replace it is to supply a new car.

Now wouldn't that be the best use of the warranty

dazz does your wife have long'ish nails? it reminds me a bit of when you eventually have indentation on the buttons on the microwave etc if you use your nails to push the buttons instead of your finger tips. the placement could line up with her thumb nail. if the handle has some sort of plastic coating layering (its not chrome i'm sure) then pressure over time could be causing an effect through the layers. anyway its a far fetched guess as i can't tell too well from the photo, will be interesting to see how you go.

Not particularly long (neither has my youngest daughter who is 12)  

Could be worse could have that other problem
