Vivid blue I30 crdi manual slx, demo with 3 test drives on it (80 kms). Full drive away price with 12 months rego ect ect and flowers for the GF. $26.800
Only got such a silly low price as im pushy i think, also told them i was considering a i-load van in the future. Also came with full tank and all the usuall extras. Couldnt believe it as all other dealers i spoke to said 29.630 firm as they are selling like hotcakes.

I am getting an SR once I sell my house, has anyone recently purchased one so I can get a bit more detail on what to pay 'drive away'. This will be my first new car, I'm thinking of buying via a site like betterdeal where the car dealers reverse bid for your sale, but happy to pay a good haggler here instead  :lol:

That's not a bad price at all, considering you have the remainder of a FIVE YEAR WARRANTY  :mrgreen:

I paid the full 16K, but life isn't all about money is it

Well here's what my contract says (no idea when I'll get the car though, refer to my intro thread 'g'day from newcastle')

i30 SLX CRDi

metallic paint
carpet mats
leather gear knob
headlamp protectors
rear spoiler
alloy sports pedal
style visors
Towing set
cargo liner
full tank of fuel
window tint, rust and paint protection
plus all the compulsory charges: rego, gov stamp duty, rego plate and ctp insurance

All for a total of 30,389 (I'd been aiming for 30k flat. Nearly got it)

Regards

Daniel

I went to see another dealer today just to see if it were reasonable..
We got the price to 28500 with tint (the car in showroom had it), he checks with manager and comes back with another price, we said no so he checked manager again.. then at 28600 he went to check with hes manager again... he wanted more which wouldn't be much more of a saving than the existing quote from a nice dealer, so we left.. I didn't feel like waiting for the price to slowly go up. I don't have the patience for car buying! Probably going to buy it monday from nice dealer :D

The final price of my car:

Hyundai i30 1.6 manual petrol Style = £19,200 - 39,500 AUD
Sports body kit package + wheels + tint = £4,900 - 10,000 AUD
Total = £24,100 - 49,500 AUD
Discount = £2,855 - 5,873 AUD
Final Price = £21,245 - 43,710 AUD

80% foreign loan, (50% Yen 50% CHF)
Rest in cash and previous car.
About £261 - 537 AUD a month.

Interesting, I made this post in july and since then the Krona has fallen day by day, so if I recalculate the prices towards the UK Pound and AUS $ now the price on my car is quite fair, I think.

Hyundai i30 1.6 manual petrol Style = £13,200 - 31,000 AUD
Sports body kit package + wheels + tint = £3,420 - 8,000 AUD
Total = £16,620 - 39,000 AUD
Discount = £2,000 - 4,660 AUD
Final Price = £14,620 - 34,340 AUD

Now I see why all the foreigners are coming here to buy cars, expensive cars  :mrgreen:

snap about the lazy part. It's just so much easier to sit down, start car, put car in drive, move steering wheel.

Hello everyone,

I am a new member and new owner as of 28 November 2008! I paid $25,490 for a new SLX CRDi automatic model. Instead of a $1,000 Myer voucher the dealer gave me a cheque for $1,000 so I suppose you could say I paid $24,490. Not too bad of a deal I think. I only got a quarter of a tank of fuel unlike some of the other deals. Does anyone know how much the genuine ipod media cable is?
