OK I know that nobody is going to beat Nick from Belgium who got his car for free, but did any of us poor souls who actually PAID MONEY for their i30s manage to get a good deal?

My car was originally listed at just under £20,000 [41,000aud] (inc body kit & 18" wheels). By the time I saw it in the showroom it had been registered by the dealer for 2.5 months, it had 20 miles on the clock and it was discounted to £15,995. I managed to get them to drop to £15,500 [32,000aud].

It came with 6 months road tax = £100. I got them to include free mats = £40 - a tank of fuel = £62 - a second tank of fuel because they delivered it a couple of days late = £62 again. That's about it.

So, being kind to myself, I reckon I got for the equivalent of £4,760* [9,780aud] less than list price, which makes me quite happy   [/i][/size]

Howdy... (its easier than saying i30manUK)

Over here (in Aus) If the dealer registers the car and keeps it for a month or two they call it a "demo" and when they clear it they save on some taxes which is generally passed on to the buyer. Don't know if that was the case with your car. Demos don't usually have such low mileage - but sometimes they do. I got some of my best deals that way. Thumper got a demo (and I assume a good price). I had a trade-in (which I tried to sell privately without any luck) so my deal was only average (I.M.O.)

Cheers,

Dazz

In the UK there are 'new' cars, 'pre-registered' (like mine) and 'demonstrators' (which have been registered by the dealer and used for test drives for a few months). It's common for dealers to pre-register cars if they need to get their sales moving, because it means they can sell them a bit cheaper, making them more attractive to tightwads like me. You basically get a new car for less money, but you have to accept that the registration document will show that you're the second owner - which is fine by me as I intend to keep the car for a while.

Croatia:

i30 1,6 CRDi  (66 kw/90 hp), Steel grey
iThink package (equivalent to SLX CRDi)
+ Cruise control
+ rear sensors
+ some other stuff like rubber carpets, first aid box...

127.000 HRK    = 28.600 AUD   = 13.900 GBP

I got it on the "Diesel for the price of petrol" offer.
(Offers like this are common here, due to fuel prices)

Mine was a demo (I did not want to wait, and the demo was in the colour and spec that I wanted, plus the dealer really liked my Getz. Was the last SXi in Australia)

I received $2,000 off the final price.  8-)

Sounds like a good Deal Thumper, and a believable one!

2 grand off a Hyundai i30, a car with a minimum 12 week wait is good in my book.

How many K's did it have on the clock Thumper?

Mine was registered by the dealer for 1 day so they could offer me a discount and class the car as a demo!!!

Only had 25 miles on clock. I'd done 10 in demo mode and told already had 6 when delivered to dealership.

Like i30manUK I got a few extra's - carpets, mud guards, 12 months road tax paid the difference from 6 month, nearly 3/4 tank of diesel, 50% off 1st service and a better than expected PX on my 7 year old Accent.

So all in I think I got around 20% off UK list.

128km on the clock when I picked it up.

So all in all, not too bad.  8-)

I got almost 3 grand off. I gave the dealer my business card and he noticed I worked in the education industry - apparently Hyundai give fleet discounts for education staff (probably for other industries too - worth asking). However, I don't get the car until Aug/Sept so the wheels may yet fall off  (the deal, not the car).

I didn't get much of a trade in (maybe I should have polished it - see the 'polish topic   ).

I have mentioned in my introduction how much I am paying for mine - but I will wait till it actually arrives in August to give the final verdict.

Hi Saint...

I Like...."Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes."

Bit like my ex-wife... I encouraged her to take up exercise (a 5km run every night after tea..) it was a great idea she was 35kms away by the end of the week

Cheers,

Dazz

mine was oficially 17.000 euro, more or less, and I paid for it 16.000 with taxes, but I bought it on my firm, so without taxes it comes down to 14.000 (the 2.000 were retrieved from the taxes I should normally pay to the state) so 14.000 euro means 22.900 AUD, i hope that's correct, i ain't a math's kinda guy...

I paid net 22,900 Euro for my i30 Style in NL. I'm the most screwed person in the world. I really overpaid. But I hated my previous Audi A3 and got to rid of it immediately. I liked it and paid that money. There was onle one buyer I heard before me in NL so no reference of the price of that car. Even dealer was knowing less than me about the car.
