Having more than a passing interest in the world of advertising and changing perceptions, the transformation of Hyundai has been astonishing and in large part the i30 has been responsible for that.
I can remember not more than 2 years ago having a conversation with Mum when she said to me she was interested in buying a secondhand Excel. I can't recall the exact words I used, but I do remember being less than complimentary. Let's face it, they were built to a price and people willing to pay that price lapped them up. A successful car certainly, but one anybody with higher standards would avoid like the plague.
To go from that attitude to wanting to buy a Hyundai says something for how good the i30 is. I thought I'd be a Corolla man for life but I can't see why you'd buy one these days.
Who would've ever thought you could get a car like the SLX CRDi auto for under 30 grand with 5 year unlimited km warranty? Hyundai says they're generous in their ads and when you see the included features, you can only agree!
Props to everyone involved in the forum - it's answered a lot of my questions and made me even more confident that I'm choosing the right car.
