Just had 900kms service done, advised I need to have the air conditioning belt changed. Is this a big job? I've done quite a bit of car maintenance over the years and usually get good results..... quoted $55 by the mechanic, so that says it isn't a huge task or labour would be more.

G'Day AndyS,

 :i30:

$55:00 for a belt change sounds ok to me.
Depends on how much you can get it for yourself, and time etc to do it to figure out the actual savings if you DIY .
Our 04 Challenger's belt was $35:00 and labour was $20:00 when getting AC serviced last week. When he called for approval to change it, it was a no brainer for me, go ahead mate 👍

If I've got this right it should be a 4PK855 (977132D100). and it's a $15 belt online free delivery if you're not in a rush.

So you stand to save $40 if you know what  to do.  $55 is not a lot of money though to be sure it's right assuming $55 is parts & Labour
