As promised :goodjob:

If this roof were in Finland, I would say it has a serious heat leakage. I do not know about Scotland, but in southern Finland our roofs have 40 cm (16") thermal insulation as standard. We get icicles usually spring-time when the sun starts melting the snow on our roofs.

So cold here, -4c and falling, that the highs of our summer are long gone.

So any chance of some pictures of the sights from the warmer parts of the globe.

ps I see in Adelaide they are expecting rain tomorrow, Tuesday.
But at least it will be warm   :sweating:

You have hit the nail on the head saunaman, we have got sufficient insulation, but this side of the house is South facing and gets the sun all day and despite the cold temps, the sun has actually been very springlike in the last few days, note that the snow is still piled high on the roof, it is simply being melted by the sun at the front edge.

PS The icicles at the back are nothing like the same size and have not crashed to earth, the sun normally gets round to the back about 3pm at this time of year, by which time it is very low in the sky, since it is dark by 4pm.

-5 was the high here today, and we've had freezing fog and very light fine snow on and off all day.

It's felt bitterly "damp" cold today, considering there was little or no wind.

  • i30's are being seen everywhere....
Was 27 degrees here today with around 75% humidity.
Last couple of days have been about the same max temp but the humidity has been up to 90%+ which really brings the perspiration out during early morning runs...  :sweating:

Summer has definitely arrived in this neck of the woods just need to get rid of the rain that has been affecting large areas particularly inland where they have just come out of a ten year drought and are now be washed away in the floods..

Temp got up to 8°C today, I didn't like it, warm weather with southern vinds in the winter means rain.

I actually preferred the -5 to -10 weather last week with northern vind direction, it was beautiful, no rain and no clouds and I could stargaze every night

I wish it could be warm and clear skies at the same time

Here in Northern Tasmania it is ranging from lows of about 10c to highs of about 20c ...

Last December we only got 20mm of rain for the whole month ... but this year raining every 2nd or 3rd day had nearly 70mm already   (although other parts of OZ getting a lot more...)

Jeepers the grass is growing fast   (I've got 2 acres of the stuff.. :P)
