Is it snowing there? It's been snowing here on and off for 36 hours now. I couldn't see my i30 in the carpark earlier.

Forcast here for Christmas .... Christmas Eve cloudy humid top of 33C. Christmas Day Hot and a top of 38C. Boxing Day Hot and 39C.

There would be a lot of us here that would love a nice open log fire while leaning on the mantle shelf with a nice cold pint of larger in your hand ... looking out the window over the snow covered land  :D.

Don't ya juss miss it?

Perilous trips out to the shops. Damage to wheels. Freezin cold. Heating on full; still freezin cold at bedtime. Nose like a red berry.

I'd swap it in a heartbeat for a couple of hours of Oz weather

should be full now... its been raining all day!!!!
Only about 19 mm till 5PM here.
Been a bit light and I thought I heard on the 4pm news from Brisbane that they'd only had 5mm since 9AM.
However, there's been plenty since 5 PM.
And it's got 3000 litres to fill.

We ave a fairly big roof on our house and I worked out that every mm of rain gives us approx 250 litres of water in our tanks.. We have 2 x 10,000 gallon tanks (90,000 litres) and no council supply...

With the amount of rain we have had lately they are staying full no matter how much we use

We have town water but are just trying to avoid using it for the gardens and car washing. This is under the eaves, slimline. Will get another one if we feel the need. But my calculations on useage and average rainfall say we should be OK.
I'm monitoring the rain guauge and the tank so I'll know in the next day or two how much it takes to fill.

Looks pretty neat Trev.. I have a 2000ltr Corrugated poly tank at the top of our block as well (Good for firefighting and stuff) doesn't take too long to fill off the rooves of our two 3 x 3 sheds.. (only a week or two of good rain)

It's so nice to hear the drip.. drip.. drip of the thaw; we're currently at 0c according to Fergie, but that must be a degree or two out

No thaw here, we have had more snow, it's pretty difficult to get around off the main roads.

The i30 has proven to be better on snow than a honda civic  :goodjob:

We seem to be just sat in a small corridor accross the midlands at the moment that is getting it quite bad. It's been stopped since about 11:00 but the radar shows more heading this way for later. Thankfully only one more day to work.

At the moment I could fill that in about 15 minutes....with my shovel.

Glad you mentioned the "my shovel" bit, for a moment I thought you were talking something else......

Is it just me or are those tanks ugly? They look like something from a petrochemical plant....No offense intended, Trev... :-\

I guess everyone's tastes are different.
We chose the slimline because it fits in nicely beside the house at the back and reckon it looks OK.
