Some of you have heard about my mate Dorians modified Skoda Octavia. started off with 118kw now it's got 375!

He's very partial to an i30N but would find it a bit gutless.  :snigger:

Hopefully this video link works for everyone.

What’s he actually done to it Dazz? I can’t see the crank/main bearings holding up long term without major work.

I had to do 6 bolt mains on my clubby to get it to hold together after more than doubling the power.

It uses a gti 2.0 motor as a base has the turbo listed in the video comment. He had to upgrade the wastegate? Plus he's upgrading the intercooler to a more efficient Aussie made one because it wasn't blowing cool enough air into the turbo in that dyno run.

I'll see what else he can tell me + photos.  He isn't a member but he monitors the forum.

Sik build :goodjob: Very impressive to get those figures using a stock head, I see ARP studs were used, hopefully that’s enough to hold it together without extra studs being added :Good_luck:

What’s the torque steer like?

I might be able to torque him into giving me a steer next week.  :whistler:

Apparently the torque steer is manageable (not too bad). The biggest problem is wheelspin when changing gears. The guy doing most of the work is going to apply something called boost by gear which should tame the wheelspin a bit. Dorian says the acceleration in 4th gear is terrifying.  :crazy1:

He might have to look into a smart LSD setup like what the new N is using, or add a rear drive line AWD setup.

I had a custom 5sp LSD box made for the mini as she wouldn't even get of the mark with single wheel drive after the power increase, the down side of that was if you put the boot into it on a bend both wheels would spin and you'd skate straight off the road :Drive:

Yes he's considering something like that.

I forgot to mention last Tuesday I was privileged to be taken for a ride in what must be the most powerful Skoda Octavia in Tasmania (if not Australia)

Scary stuff! Dorian was careful not to scare me too much or lose his license but acceleration in each gear was astonishing and the 6 pot racing brakes are just as impressive.

I've encouraged him to take it to the next drag meet down here to get acceleration and standing quarter times.

Subject to minimising wheel spin we suspect well under 5 second 0-100 kms and under 11 second standing quarter..  :victory:

Be damn impressive if he broke 11 seconds without LSD :Drive:

Apparently this was installed prior to the latest mods. ..

So with bonnet vents and quad exhausts, etc.. it probably isn't exactly a sleeper.

I Must remember to take some photos of under the bonnet next time I'm over there.

Looks Great.
I would call this a total sleeper. The vents and pipes will turn heads, but nobody would expect a Skoda to be churning that much power. Awesome!

My mate is still tweaking his Skoda. Had it up to 430kw, but wasn't playing nicely  so backed off to just over 400kw again. He's had the front guards replaced with wider fibreglass ones and had the rear guards rolled to accommodate wider custom wheels with 245 40ZR18 Nankang Semi-slick tyres! He's also had the gear box beefed up with a much "chunkier" gearset. He admits it not a nice daily commuter but will be a beast in track days and hill climbs. He's got 4WD running gear coming as well!!!
