Hello!

I have winter tires on my i30 now. The size is 185/65/15.

I'll probably buy new alloys and tires (205/55/16) in spring or in the beginning of summer. Meanwhile (between 15th March till June or something) I would maybe buy first only summer tires (R15'), and later, I would sell them to my uncle (he has Ceed) or someone else.

The question I have is next.. Summer tires..which dimension would you recommend - the dimensions I'm deciding between are 185/65/15 or 195/65/15. The 195/65 are much cheaper (the same tire) and the speedometer is with 185 less accurate than with 195 or 205 (it's showing 100 km/h, when I'm actually driving 92-93 km/h). Oh and of course, the 185's look so small, especially on CW.

So what do you think? Would I lose a lot of stability with 195/65 compared to 185/65 or would it be the same? The 195 is a bit higher and that's why I'm afraid about that. I know the 195 would be more comfortable (which would come handy on our roads) but I'm not really looking for that. I could also go with 195/60, but than the speedometer would be even less accurate than with 185/65...damn

Maybe anybody of you had 185 before and switched to 195 or the other way around?

I'd go with the 195 tires, which is the recommended tire size for a 15" rim here in Canada. My winter tires are 185, and they're great, but the speedometer reading, as you mentioned, is a bit off with those tires.

Besides, the 195 tires give you 10mm more tread width on the road than the 185.

I would go for the 195/65/15

They are in fact the correct size tyre for the 15x5.5 rims  :D

Hi,
2 months ago I changed my tires (185/65 R15) to new ones (TOYO Proxes CF1) and I decided to change in to 195/60 R15 because is more close to 185/65 R15 and it looks better with lower tyre profle and its react better
