Well up Sydney & my father got me to drive him up Top Ryde as Harris Scarf had a special on pots & pans. He needed a new frying pan non stick and glass top.
The PD with 2.0 motor a lot better than the GD 1.8. I can feel it has a better and stronger Torque delivery. I could even feel the FWD torque steer.

Dazz I done a lot of driving in his GD 1.8 & the 1.8 Elantra ( think two had same motor? ) I could feel both down on Torque they needed the auto trans to shift down a gear all the time. the PD only slightly larger engine but a noticeable difference in Torque. did not get to check economy. I would have one in manual!
