Hello dear i30 people.

Time has come for me to give my 2008 i30 petrol a brake change.

When I look at the websites, I see different measurements for front brake disc.

Most are 280 mm. Others are 300 mm.

I’ve found a nice set.

HERTH+BUSS 300MM Front
HERTH+BUSS 262 MM Rear

My question is...

Will it fit without any problems if I choose the 300, instead of 280 front disc.

And does anyone have experience with the HERTH+BUSS brand ?

More experienced members should chime in, but,
Clearance between the disc outer edge and caliper body would be a big point to check for me.
Are the 300's any thicker than the 280? , clearance between the pads another point.
Probably wouldn't be able to use a larger pad or get increase in hyd pressure increase.
Going for performance or looks? . Personally,  if 280's have been fine, stay with them,  buy some wine/ beer / brownie points with the difference.

300s are 28 mm thick

280s are 26 mm


Maybe I should just stick to 280s then 


Want to give the car a good brake performance and visually look good 

Disc and caliber are rusty and way too old.

Pretty sure it’s not braking even on the disc. As i did a brake pad change twice in a year.

Brake caliber is getting a renovation too, or maybe just a replacement.

Bottom line is to do this you need rotors and new calipers + min wheel is 16 inch as far as I know

If you want better braking performance while still retaining standard replacement costs you can opt for slotted rotors and combine with ceramic composite pads.

I will replace the whole brake system when winter season is gone.

Don’t see any reason to make it all now, but good to be prepared.
