Not sure if you've seen this review of the new Merc A200

2018 Mercedes-Benz A200 she says, he says review | Drive.com.au

Summary at end of the review with reference to the I30 SR:

"He: Well, wait until you drive a bigger Mercedes, then you’ll get the full premium experience. The new A200 feels a little bit like Mercedes-Lite to me. Presentation aside, I’d rather buy a Hyundai i30 SR and save nearly $20k, because I think it’s a more polished small car on the road. Agree, Ali? Or has the MBUX won you over with its charms?

She: I’m not a huge technology fiend, and considering how the i30 SR drove I have to agree with you. For the money Mercedes-Benz asks for the A200, you’d have to either be a loyal Benz customer, fall in love with the MBUX system or be a badge snob."

I haven't been in the 1.3ltr as mentioned in that article though I have been in the 1.6ltr and it was lovely, if I had the extra 20K I'd get the Merc for it's level of refinement but as mentioned the i30 fills a price point that's hard to beat

Money aside I'd choose the A200 in the A45 AMG guise, what a beast

I spotted a nice 2016 Merc 200CSA 4 door coupe the other day for $47,500. Nice looking car, but when I checked out the features and performance, both were less than a brand new Premium SR which was more than 10k cheaper.
