As a recent new owner the 5 year unlimited mileage warrenty was a massive selling point for me as I was looking for a 12 to 18 month old car.

Here in the UK none of the top 7 selling car manufacturers of 2018 offer more than 3 years as standard, this includes:

1) Ford
2) VW
3) Vauxhall (Opel)
4) BMW
5) Merc
6) Audi
7) Nissan

8, 9& 10 (Toyota, Kia and Hyundai) all offer at least 5.

I honestly cannot see why some of the others have not upped their game here yet, especially the likes of Ford and VW who surely want to keep top spots. Arrogance if you ask me, they are both clearly doing it in other regions like Australia but feel they will keep selling well without it in the UK and can make a few extra £ from extended warranty sales.

The tables are turning tho!

Interesting Hyundai might be shifting theirs up soon....great news for consumers!  :goodjob:

It will be interesting if Hyundai ups theirs to 6 or 7 although I expect having Kia at 7 gives it that carrot to get people to crossover so they may leave that be :whistler:

As @MT-RED says, here in the UK (at least) Toyota have been offering 5 year warranties for a while. Our 2011 RAV4 had 5 years on it.

Good to see Oz catching up :D

Yeah. And what percentage of the UK market does Toyota have?  :disapp:

The ACC going after them for warranty issues has basically made it easy for them to up the warranties.

It is going to be very hard for them to argue that a well maintained car that has a major issue at 4 years is not warranty anyway, so might as well erode someones marketing advantage....
