Here are the first few pictures of my new i30cw. Added also pics of few winter accessories (interior heater, power sockets and studded tires), as they seem to be rarely shown here.

Looks great.

Does the pre-heater heat the engine as well as the cabin?

What colour is that? Is it Continental Silver?

I can answer that.... :D

...
My i30cw is going to be continental silver, added with automatic A/C, rain sensor, windscreen heating, electric engine and interior heaters, tow bar and extra wheels with winter tires.
...

Sorry for the edit on the quote saunaman  :'( but at least you got great extras to compensate :)

Yes, there's a separate heater unit attached to the engine.

Yes, Beautiful quality of photo  and great car..(just needs alloys..)

What is the story with the power socket in the front bumper? and the other thing on the side of the console (optional extra heater accessory? I hadn't heard of that before...)

I agree, alloys would improve the looks great deal. However, people usually do not buy alloys for the winter tires (rough conditions in winter).

The power socket in the front bumper is for the electric interior and engine heaters. These are not Hyundai manufactured, but are provided by the importer and installed at the dealerships garage - very typical add-ons in Finland.

The interior heater warms up the cabin and defrosts the car windows, plus helps keeping the cabin dry.

The engine heater (this model) is connected to coolant hoses and warms up the water in the engine. Pre-heated engine is lighter to start and is less polluting in the start-up. It also prevents engine wearing - here you can add 20000 km wearing/year for engines not equipped with engine pre-heater.

I have a timer-controlled power outlet, which allows heaters to start 2 hours before hitting the road.

Thanks for that saunaman.. Things are all relative aren't they.. Tasmania is considered the coldest state in Australia but is very mild compared to Finland.. (Never even heard of such options before.. and we don't need two sets of tyres either )

What a lovely car.  Would look better in blue though.

Please excuse a silly question from someone who lives in a temperate climate, but are those studs on the tyres metal, plastic or what???  I have never sen anything like that before.  Mind you, I have only seen snow about half a dozen times in my 'short' life.

Nice CW and great pictures :)

I love the tires, they would sure come handy a lot of times over here too :)

kittikat: The studs are metal, they are not allowed in our country I think, but they would sure be great sometimes, so we wouldn't have to use the "chains". I understand it's a "must have" in Finland of course.

Pre-heater also looks interesting

Now that would be a a great add on here given the really cold weather we have had this year

The studs are metallic, they used to be made of hardened steel, but nowadays their outer body is some alumium alloy and only the core/tip is hardened. This makes the stud much lighter and friendlier to the road surface.

Here's an image from Nokian Tyres, the square-shaped stud used in Hakkapeliitta 5 tire:

 Yes definitely... but haven't heard of a car needing as extra (auxilliary) heater down here..

The stardard heater in most cars is more than enough....
