Hi all,

I've just completed a swap from the standard to the supervision cluster in my i30, and thought I would leave some photos and my thoughts here for anyone else considering the swap.
(Please excuse the dustiness!)

Tools Required:
Trim Removal Tool
Phillips Head Screwdriver

Step 1:
Remove the lower trim cover by prying the sides and pulling it forward

Step 2:
Remove the top/soft half of the visor over the cluster by pulling forward, there are 6 clips holding it in.
(Sorry, didn't take a photo of this one)

Step 3:
Remove the 4x screws holding the underside of the visor

Step 4:
Remove the 4x screws from the existing cluster - 2x screws above, 2x screws below

Step 5:
Unplug the harness from the existing cluster

Step 6:
Reverse the process with the new cluster in place

Here's a short video of the indicator sounds, reverse sound, and a quick scroll through the normal menus

Thoughts:
- I love the new sounds it makes, and obviously the colour screen and dials look fantastic.
- The dash I got was out out a 2013 Diesel, and since it didn't have a DCT, the manual gears only indicate up to 6 (but obviously the car still engages 7)
- I haven't gotten the kilometers adjusted yet, but will plan on getting it done in the next week.

If anyone has any questions, i'd be happy to answer them.

That’s great, how would you get the trip meter set back to what it was previously?

Nice outcome. Not having a GD, I wasn't aware of such an opportunity for a step up. Well done. :victory:

My plan is either take it to Hyundai and get them to do it, or there are a couple of auto elecs around that have the capability of doing it as well

I used a (clone) Digiprog 3 when I did my cluster swap. No issues, except soldering the leads onto EEPROM  was challenging.
