Just to prove I haven't become a Mazda fanboy I thought I'd post a link to a new review of the Mazda 3 with the "new beaut" skyactive-x motor. There have been numerous reviews that have been posted in the last 24 hours and they all seem underwhelmed with the new technology. To me it doesn't appear to match the early hype.

It might be impressively economical,  but the performance characteristics don't sound very inpiring. Certainly not worth a price premium over say the 2.5 litre motor in my opinion.

Not a game changer yet but we'll see what they can make of it in the future.
