When posting pics can we please use Photobucket or any other
hosting sites. This will save us filling up the server and slowing things
down.

Thanx

heres a list of free ones, i personally use glowfoto but its all personal preferance.

http://www.glowfoto.com/
http://tinypic.com/
http://imageshack.us/
http://photobucket.com/

if any of those dont work, just go to google and search "free picture hosting" and you will literally have thousands of websites to choose.

Also, for those of you with an internet connection in australia, your ISP should have provided you with some hosting room of your own to uploaqd things too, those ones are guarenteed to work and i doubt will be deleted(as is the problem with free webhosting)

bigpond has 20mb
TPG has 10 or 30mb depending on plan
internode "up to" 50mb

and i got bored of going to the diff ISP's website and searching for hosting but you get my drift

Also, to include a picture there, all you do is copy the html or bbcode image location and paste!!

or, click on the img button under the subject field when replying or creatign a post, it will add something like this (without spaces tho) [ img ][ /img ] then you just pased the image url (e.g http://mywebsite/image.jpg) in the middle of the 2 things that get added, and voila your piccy will be loaded when you post!!!

I use photobucket. It very easy to use and you can edit images. Like reducing the size of the pic for better view in forums.
And under every photo is an IMG-code, just click an its copied to the clipboard. Then simply past it in your reply. Simple as that.

Yeah - and Photobucket's image editor lets you do things like blank out your numberplate, if you want to.

Question

Since the request by i30Dave I've seen pictures in new posting and I was wondering whether they were "attachments"?

If not attachments how are they put on so they appear.

I have been uploading my pictures to Mediafire then putting a link in the posting.
Picture does not appear only link.

What am I doing wrong?

1) Click the img button

2) Now there will be this =>

2) Enter the link to the picture between ""

3) Example

And that's it! I use photobucket because it is very easy to use  ;)

1. register with http://photobucket.com

2. Upload your pic or pics to photobucket.

3. Below the pic you want to post from photobucket there are 4 options - click in the bottom window marked "IMG Code". If you've clicked in the right place it will say "COPIED" in black, on a yellow background.

4. Simply paste the link you've copied into your message, using the "CTRL V" command.

...when you submit your post it will appear as a pic.

It's that easy mate.

Both i30manUK and tzwientjuh are correct and their way of doing it works.

However, there is another way to insert the Img code.

You can paste the link into into your posting, highlight the link and then click the Img button.

This method works for all those formatting buttons at the top of the Post a reply window.

Just highlight the text you want to format and click the button.

It also works for Font colour.

Posted pictures using Mediafire as host see link

viewtopic.php?f=17&t=184

Just copied to Mediafire then in the tab marked "embeded in website" went to "Choose a size to embed" and selected size.

Then went to "Select the type of embed code" and selected "Forum Embed Code (vBulletin, phpBB, etc.)", copied and pasted link.

No need to use Img.
