Bad news  :-[

Rod Millen and his mad-looking Hyundai prototype had a disaster. A gearbox temporarily full of neutrals on the second corner, a spin, and brakes that disappeared towards the end of the run meant a lowly time of 11mins 06secs.

And to rub salt in the wound

The Time Attack 2wd record of 12:09.40, set by Millen last year in his old Hyundai Genesis, fell to Jeff Zwart at 11:31.095 in his Porsche 911 Cup

Wow that put it in a much worse light than I heard.

All I heard though was that Rhys and the crew could not find a good set up for the dirt sections of the climb, but for the bitumen section it was cracking.

Bit of a disappointment, but I'm sure he'll be back next year bigger and better.

I didn't hear if the 10min barrier was broken by the 'Monster' Japanese guy, so I'm guessing he wasn't successful in that pursuit, but did win overall.

Regards

Daniel
