The issue I'm having is when you change gears and let the clutch out and accelerate the engine dies for a second or 2 then regains power. Very annoying. From doing some research it looked like the likely cause was the clutch damper as my clutch bite point is quite low as well. (Had the exact same issue with my Mums 2012 kia Cerrato, never tried fixing that though) After having a look at the clutch hydraulics this model doesnt seem to have a damper fitted. I also find that the car is severely underpowered at low revs,  but seems to go okay when revving the crap out of it.Flat roads its okay but hit a small incline and you need to go back to 2nd and really rev it to keep the speed up. I know its a small motor but it can't be that underpowered? Anyone else having these issues or can shed some light on my problems and point me in the right direction?

Dont let 1.8L fool you. Thats a quick little car especially with a manual box.

not clutch, if it was your Revs would rise due to slippage on a hill. Correct??????
My best guess is bad ignition timing, crank sensor,  fuel starving.

Assume this has no turbo? How many Kms?

Yeah it's not turbo. 70,000km serviced regularly.
