It won't do any harm but it won't start the car because there is no chip for the immobilizer..

With earlier cars with engine immobilisers, if you tried to start the car with a non transponder key, you ran the risk of scrambling the ECU which became a throwaway. Not cheap to replace.
I know of no-one who has actually done this but almost every time I get a non-transponder key cut, the locksmith is at pains to tell me not to try to start the engine because of this, so my advice is, don't try it.
Mine will run accessories but I ain't turning it any further. OH. Actually I do go to the "dash lights on" mode to wind the windows up or down.

you can cut the transmiter from the original key and plece it on the new key that you got(assuming you had a normal key before and now yo've got one with buttons to lock/unlock, didn't really understoond what you ment in your post)

i would only use the non transponder key to open the car to retrieve the keys that you've locked in it.

2nd what 2i30's says

it will probably be fine to use on accecories, but i can 100% gaurantee the car wont run with it... it needs the transponder to work properly!

Depends where you get the blank from.
Hyundai can supply the metal part of the key for about $55. You then have to pay a locksmith to copy it and the type of cut means it's expensive. It attaches to the transponder (head) via a roll pin which is extremely firmly inserted.
The Hyundai part is basically just the metal part of the key and if you look at your proper key, you'll see the roll pin joint and get some idea of how impractical that is.
I had a full, plastic head (no transponder) key cut by a locksmith. He used a Toyota blank. And the whole thing cost me $55. A guy on a surfing forum I frequent went to a locksmith in Sydney with the blank number off my key and got one for about $42, so it's worth shopping around.

"ohh what a mess this is, you have to remove this pin to seperate the key if the transponder gets water damaged"
