Hey guys , haven't been on for a while , car still going strong except for one small problem I have which I have mentioned on here before.
I have now clocked over 210,000kms and I experience longer cranking sometimes only in hot weather , when it's cold it's starts very quickly every time so I am pretty confident the glow plugs are good , someone else suggested cleaning the MAF sensor which I have done but it has made no difference , when it takes longer to crank and then starts there will be white smoke out the exhaust which is unburnt diesel (I can smell it) and it will idle rough for the first 30 seconds then come good.
An acquaintance I knew who worked at Hyundai as a mechanic suggested it might be a leaky injector (they aren't cheap)
Apart from the hot weather starting issue it's running very well.
It's not a deal breaker as at worst sometimes it doesn't start on the first crank but will always start on the second crank very quickly.
It has been doing this for quite a long time and I am hoping to fix it one day.
I do have 4 new glo plugs I purchased a while ago but because of it's mileage I am a little concerned about them seizing so didn't want to replace them unless necessary.
Any other ideas/suggestions ?
Thanks
David
