Good morning all,

This morning this little light started flashing on my dash.  Appeared after about two minutes driving, flashed a few times then stayed on.  I pulled over to read the manual about what it meant then after about 30 seconds, the light disappeared and I continued on my way to work.

Should I be concerned?  I'm heading away this long weekend and don't want any issues with my car.

This indicator light is part of the Engine Control System which monitors various emission control system components. If this light illuminates while driving, it indicates that a potential malfunction has been detected somewhere in the emission control system.

Vanessa, if I was you, I'd be putting on my best smile for your friendly local mechanic and ask him to scan your car for faults...and then take it from there.

Be a bit hard as working today and I doubt anyone, specifically Hyundai, will fit me in.

So just had the light pop up again the other day, very briefly for only 10 seconds.

Car was served on Monday, no issues were found.

Just spoke with Hyundai and was informed it'll be $170/h for them to work on it and diagnose the issue.

Um, no thanks, not after I spent $300 on a service and nothing was found.
