the black bit at the top shouldn't be covering what its covering!! it should take up half of the songs area and function like when you tip your ipod on its side and scroll through the music!!

click on the drop down menu 'view' and select either 'as grid' or 'as list' whichever takes your fancy.  :D

The problem is that everybody wants an Apple iPod, but doesn't want the computer that goes with it and therefore the native software associated.

Therefore it is not iTunes which is "gay", but Windoze

Resolution : Buy a Mac! :D

Why on earth would Apple want to be more Win friendly?, remember M$ pinched the whole GUI thing from the Motorola based processor computer manufacturers in the first place and refused to pay a penny for it!

easy fix! if you like using Windows media player http://www.mgtek.com/dopisp/

You can trial it out (doesn't work for apps though but music it does) and I don't know which versions it works on but you can trial it for free!

Winamp is another that works well with the iPod - you can get an iPod plugin that does the trick.

LOL *throws it out*

seems i dont have a lap top now!
well i didn't expect you take it that literally

i personally hate itunes, utter pain in the neck. i use better brand  (cough) mp3 players and drag and drop with winamp or media monkey etc. though WMP is better on windows 7 than it has been in the past it's still a bit clunky and cpu hoggy.

i think that's how ipods sell to the less tech savvy (sorry if i hurt anyone's feelings here) - with all the marketing hype with things e.g. the car comes with a 'ipod converter', or my latest home theatre comes with an ipod dock, people think oh i guess i need an ipod then. not that they need an mp3/4 player oh noooo. just that they need an "ipod" but have no clue how to use it anyway so why know the difference?
evil dictatorship that apple man

i'll go back in my hole now  :-[

i'm actually pretty clued on tech wise (even for an almost middle aged gal - though a few things get me stumped like wireless networking - but thats not for lack of trying).
and it's almost a curse at times, i've had salesmen tell me things that i just think 'what the hell are you on?' which i can correct, but to listen to the salesmen tell 'other' people the same crap i get so torn whether to drag that poor person aside or not and save them.
and of course being the 'go to' person for fixing the pc can be a recipe for finding a nice big cliff to drive off.

and i lurve my mp3 player, need a new one though.
not sure i'll ever use that darn ipod adaptor in the car

wireless networking is hard to do... well it was for me anyway, but i think my ex's little sister had a thing against me setting it up, i would always find it disconnected or she would reset it just to annoy me!
